Professional Rally Driver
The 28 year old, originally from Invercargill and now living in Tauranga has recently taken his rallying career international, competing with co-driver Jason Farmer in the M-Sport prepared Ford Fiesta R2 in Europe. Dave was diagnosed with coeliac disease five years ago with his mother also having been diagnosed.
Champion weightlifter
Charlotte was diagnosed at the age of 18 ten days prior to her entry in a weight lifting competition in New Caledonia. Three years on, Charlotte is vastly more healthy and happy on a strict GF diet and has recently lifted more than 150 per cent of her body weight! She believes that her diagnosis has helped her achieve her sporting goals.
Actress
Esther is an actress and singer based in Melbourne. Esther did theatre work before landing the role of Olivia in kiwi TV comedy/drama Go Girls. Other TV credits include Underbelly New Zealand, House Husbands, WW1 mini series When We Go To War, and The Outrageous Fortune prequel, Westside.
Former International Cricketer
Nicola Browne, International cricketer, retired from cricket in 2010. Several months later Nicola returned to the field after being successful diagnostic with coeliac disease.
Radio Host
Robert is a long-time favourite on The Breeze radio station. He and his son Sam have coeliac disease. He was diagnosed after experiencing chronic bloating and an upset stomach.
Multisport Athlete
Winner of the Coast-to-Coast 'Longest Day' World Championship race. She was diagnosed after going to donate blood and the finger prick revealed she was severely anaemic, which lead to positive tests for coeliac disease.
Actress
Rachel has worked as an actress on Shortland Street and appeared in many theatre productions including Top Girls. She was diagnosed as being a coeliac after going off a gluten free diet and feeling very unwell.
CNZ Ambassador
Samantha was diagnosed out of the blue during routine blood screening for other health reasons. Being the first in her family diagnosed with coeliac disease this came as quite a surprise. A gluten free diet has reinvigorated her passion for food. Now she will never look back!

A self-confessed ‘foodie’, Sally launched her career in the food industry working in the Woman’s Weekly Test Kitchen. Thirty years later, having raised a family and retained her passion for cooking, Sally had to radically adapt her culinary skills when her husband was diagnosed with coeliac disease. Taking up the challenge, she drew on her home science background to create delicious gluten-free dishes that they could share with family and friends. Wanting to impart the knowledge she had gained to help others faced with the same dietary dilemma, she put her recipes into a cookbook that would provide a palatable path in saying: ‘Goodbye to Gluten’.
