Hi everyone
As you will all know we are now at level two for COVID 19 response. We won’t be opening the office again as it’s not essential we do so and we can continue to work remotely from home.We all have more freedom of movement at Alert Level 2, but it’s really important now that we keep a track of where we’ve been and who we’ve seen. Also social distancing in public and staying home if you’re sick is still very important.
The MOH recommendations for people to obtain the flu vaccine included people with autoimmune diseases including coeliac disease and others. The flu vaccine will not provide any benefit from COVID-19, but it is important to reduce the flu being another infection. Each person has their own risk assessment based on their own tolerance, who they live with and their health status. Our advice is always to seek advice from your own health professional if you feel you could be more vulnerable at this time. As coronavirus is a new illness, there is no specific research on the risk to people with coeliac disease.
Keep up that good hand hygiene and wash your hands often.
