VOLUNTEERING OPPORTUNITIES

Become an Area Coordinator
Share your skills and experience by assisting CNZ in your region with a variety of activities to support the work we do and messages we share by becoming a volunteer area coordinator, a kids’ club coordinator, or a youth ambassador.  This could include
  • Organising activities for adult or youth members
  • Hosting a kid's club event
  • Organising fundraisers
  • Sharing information and resources within your networks to help raise awareness about coeliac disease, by talking to your local school, workplaces or health professionals.
  • Helping out at one-off events and with campaigns that educate the public.
Share your experience and knowledge
You know what it’s like to live with coeliac disease and this experience and knowledge can be so valuable for a newly diagnosed member. If you don’t want to commit to being a coordinator but would like to help out from time to time, you could help:
  • As a buddy shopper when you do your regular shop at the supermarket.
  • Assist with member's get-togethers from time to time to support groups either face-to-face or online.
  • Make a presentation at your local school or workplace.
  • Share recipes and photos of your favourite GF food.
  • Share stories and articles with Coeliac New Zealand members in our regular newsletters.
  • Share posts on your social media about gluten-free living.
  • Support research opportunities when they arise.
Provide administrative support
You like to be a behind-the-scenes support, and there are opportunities to help our CNZ staff in various ways including:
  • Help out with administration tasks for staff and volunteers remotely from home
  • Help out with moving resources at our storage facility in Ellerslie
  • Share posters and resources during Coeliac Awareness Week
  • Store samples of GF food for members to collect from you in your local community
  • Help out a local event
