Eat Choice is thrilled to be a supporter of this year’s Coeliac Awareness Week. The app helps diners with coeliac disease find restaurants that understand their needs and are happy to welcome them. Eat Choice offers 3 levels of gluten safety, so diners understand the safety commitment each restaurant offers before booking. Not only that, the free app allows users to select multiple dietary restrictions, meaning if you also have an inability to eat dairy, or garlic, the app can show you options that suit you.
The company supports restaurants in improving their gluten-free offerings through education and providing evidence of the value gluten free diners bring. Globally, it is estimated that restaurants miss out on up to 10 billion dollars in lost sales due to not catering to special diets! The app also collects every request that can’t be catered to, so that they can show restaurants what their diners want. So, if you aren’t finding what you need, don’t despair, your search is important.
Eat Choice offers the ability to dine easily in a group setting. Once you have created your own profile, simply create another one for your friend or family member who has different needs. The app will show you where you can both dine safely.
The founder, Tammara Lowdell, understands the unique frustration of dining out with dietary needs due to her own struggles with being vegan and having a wheat intolerance. This led her to ensure you can see what options are available at every restaurant before you book, instead of having to wade through menus to find out if the safe option is a side dish or a bowl of fries cooked in contaminated oil. As we work with restaurants, you can be sure the information we provide is accurate, rather than relying on reviews.
The app aims to include a wide variety of dining styles so no matter if you are looking for a date night, family gathering or attending a festival, Eat Choice will have you covered. The app is currently live in Auckland and Christchurch, and they will be launching in Wellington, Hamilton, Tauranga, Nelson and Queenstown very soon.
