A New Face at Coeliac New Zealand: Meet Georgia!

Kia ora everyone,

It is such a pleasure to introduce myself to the Coeliac New Zealand community. I’m stepping into the role of Health Promotion and Dietary Education Manager, and I couldn’t be more excited to start this journey with you all.

I’m joining the team from a clinical diabetes background. I’ve spent my days working with people with Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes to pregnancy care, young adults and coeliac disease. That experience taught me one very important thing: Autoimmune conditions are complex. They add an extra layer of "life admin" to our already busy schedules, and I truly appreciate the resilience it takes to navigate that every day.

My goal is to bring you clear, evidence-based dietetic care while keeping our focus exactly where it belongs: on people and community.

Looking Ahead: My Goals for You

I’m a big fan of kick-starting the year with clear intentions. Here’s what I’m working on for you over the coming months:

  • Better "Day One" Support: We’re enhancing our resources and content for the newly diagnosed to make sure that first step into gluten-free life comes with emotional reassurance and practical tools.
  • New Webinar Development: Specifically for parents with children who have coeliac disease.
  • Strengthen Health Professional Relationships: I’ll be busy building bridges between Coeliac NZ and health professionals to ensure they have the best education to support you.
  • Clear, Honest Advice: I’m committed to ensuring our messaging is evidence-based, accurate, and easy to understand.

Let’s Connect!

I can’t wait to get stuck in and hopefully meet many of you in person at our upcoming events. Please remember that I am here to be your advocate. If you have questions, ideas, or just want to say hello, my door is always open.
